The minimum financial responsibility requirements for car insurance are $25,000 per person per accident, $50,000 per accident for bodily injury, and $25,000 per accident for property damage (25/50/25).

Beginning January 1, 2006, Mississippi law requires that all motorists maintain liability insurance and carry a card in their cars at all times showing that you have liability insurance. If you are found to be without auto insurance, you can be fined $1000 and have your license suspended for 1 year or until the car owner shows that the vehicle has insurance on it.
